According to initial estimations, the tragic motorized deltaplane accident which occurred on Sunday and caused the death of two people in central Estonia might have been caused by the support structure of the vehicle breaking.
A press officer of the West district prosecutor's office told BNS on Monday that according to initial information the motorized deltaplane which crashed on Sunday in Rapla County belonged to the pilot, a 58-year-old man, therefore there is no reason to believe that it was the pilot's first flight with the vehicle.
The pilot and a 39-year-old female passenger died in the accident.
As a result of the crash, the deltaplane caught fire and therefore the reasons behind the accident cannot be ascertained from the wreck. A technical expertise is to ascertain the reasons behind the accident.

The rescue center got a call at 7:27 p.m., saying that a motorized deltaplane had crashed into the woods and caught fire near the Kuusiku airfield. Two people, a 39-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man, died in the accident.
The West prefecture has launched a criminal investigation which is headed by the West district prosecutor's office.
